Communications Ombudsman
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme
The Communications Ombudsman is an Ofcom-approved ADR scheme for broadband, landline and mobile complaints. Consumers can escalate to the ombudsman after eight weeks with an unresolved complaint, or sooner if the provider issues a deadlock letter. The service is free to consumers.
CISAS
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme
CISAS is an Ofcom-approved ADR scheme run by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) for communications sector disputes. Handles broadband, mobile and landline complaints where the provider is a CISAS member. Free to consumers.
ISPA UK
Trade body
The Internet Services Providers Association (ISPA UK) is the trade body for UK internet service providers. Operates the ISPA Code of Practice, runs the annual ISPA Awards, and engages with government and Ofcom on industry-wide issues. Members include BT, Sky, Virgin Media, Zen, AAISP, Community Fibre and many altnets.

The UK Wireless Internet Service Providers Association represents the UK fixed wireless access industry, including many rural and community broadband operators. Operates quality assurance tiers (Startup, Micro/Community, Small Commercial, Full Commercial) and a Quality Mark programme.
INCA
Trade body
INCA (the Independent Networks Cooperative Association) is the trade body for UK independent telecoms infrastructure providers and altnets. Publishes the Metrics for the UK Independent Network Sector report and advocates for infrastructure competition and investment.
Building Digital UK (BDUK)
Government delivery body
Building Digital UK (BDUK) is an executive agency of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology delivering gigabit broadband to harder to reach areas through Project Gigabit and the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme. Contracts altnets and Openreach to fill commercial rollout gaps.
