About GEN
GEN, short for Global Enterprise Networks, began in 1989 handling electronic data interchange (EDI), a way for businesses to swap orders and invoices electronically, and became an internet service provider in 1992. It describes itself as a partnership still run by the people who founded it, and as the UK's longest-running corporate internet provider.
Internet access is one strand of a wider business IT service. The site lists connectivity, managed VPNs, cloud hosting, email, internet phone lines (SIP), IT outsourcing, software development and AI tools, and says customer systems are hosted in GEN's own UK data centres.
GEN works only with businesses, from its base in Nottingham. It suits a firm that wants its connection, hosting and IT support from one long-standing supplier.
