Questions people ask us
Short answers, with a link to the page that covers each one properly.
What do you need from me to show broadband deals?
Just your postcode. That is all we ever ask for.
No name, no email address and no phone number. Read our privacy notice for what happens to it.
How long does it take to compare broadband at my address?
About 30 seconds.
We check 30+ UK providers and altnets against your address, including Openreach, Virgin Media and the alternative networks, so you see what is actually available rather than what is advertised nationally.
Who handles the switch if I change provider?
Your new provider does. There is no need to contact your old one.
One Touch Switch covers home broadband and landline. You pick the package and your new provider takes it from there. How One Touch Switch works
I am on Universal Credit or Pension Credit. Is there a cheaper option?
Yes. Social tariffs start at £12 a month.
These are discounted packages for people on qualifying benefits, and they are not always advertised on a provider's main site. Check whether you qualify
Will the price go up part way through my contract?
Most broadband contracts include a mid-contract rise. We show every one of them in pounds.
That means you can see what next year costs before you sign, not after. Our methodology
How do you decide which deals to show first?
Cost per month, low to high. The cheapest monthly price available at your address comes first.
You can re-sort by speed, contract length or provider whenever you want, and the sort you choose is the sort you get. Setup fees and any confirmed mid-contract rise are shown on every deal, and our Total Contract Value calculator works out the full-term cost so you can check whether the cheapest monthly price is still the cheapest overall. How we rank deals
How does BroadbandSwitch.uk make money?
We earn a commission from providers when you choose a deal through our comparison and complete the order with the provider.
Commission rates do not affect the prices you are shown and do not change the ranking logic. We earn no commission at all on social tariffs, and we list them anyway. Full affiliate disclosure
Something has gone wrong. How do I complain?
Use our complaints form and we will come back to you.
If you have spotted a mistake in our data instead, submit a correction. Every fix is published in our public corrections log rather than quietly edited. Make a complaint · Submit a correction
