Lycamobile launched in 2006 around international calling, and its UK plans still include calls abroad and data roaming as standard. The company says it has more than 16 million customers across 18 countries, and its UK arm, Lycamobile UK Limited, is registered at Marsh Wall in east London.

You can choose pay as you go for flexibility or a pay monthly SIM to fix what you pay each month, with 5G and eSIM options available. Lycamobile says its coverage reaches 99% of the UK population, with 5G reaching 68%.

Since July 2023 the service has run on EE's network, a move the company says made speeds four times faster.
