About Ashford Fibre
Ashford Fibre is a newer name with older roots. Its parent company, Network 79 Ltd, started in 2004 with ADSL broadband and hosting alongside IT support, and still runs the company side and the billing. The Ashford Fibre brand followed in 2020 to bring its services to local residents.
Since 2012 it has run its own Wireless To The Premises network for rural customers, and it says this reaches up to 70Mbps in places where a phone line struggles to manage 1Mbps. It also sells full fibre and copper broadband over Openreach and full fibre over the OFNL network.
The firm openly says it is not the lowest-priced option, and makes its case on local staff with a local phone number.
