THE 82% COUNTRY
BroadbandSwitch.uk publishes ‘The 82% Country’, Report No. 29, which verifies Ofcom’s July 2026 open data line by line. Full fibre now passes 82% of UK homes, yet only 47% of the homes that can order it have done so, leaving around 14 million premises passed and unconnected. The report runs to 24 pages, carries ten charts, and ranks all 361 UK council areas.

THE LOYALTY PENALTY
Report No. 28 measures what out of contract broadband customers really pay. Ofcom data shows a gap of £7 a month on standalone broadband, £8 on a broadband and landline bundle and £9 on a package that adds TV, up to £108 across a year for the same service. Citizens Advice estimates that £824 million of social tariff support goes unclaimed every year.

THE GREAT CONSOLIDATION

BROADBAND DEALS STUDY
A hand checked study of 377 broadband deals from 33 UK providers, every price checked against the provider’s own listing. The cheapest verified deal was full fibre at £14 a month, the average of each provider’s cheapest deal was £22.55, and social tariffs start at £12.50 a month. Ofcom reports that around 70% of eligible households do not know those tariffs exist.
