Acorn Broadband
Wireless broadband for rural Scotland, focused on the Highlands, started in 2018 by founders who had run internet providers abroad.
About Acorn Broadband
Two founders, Darragh and Jack, started Acorn Broadband in 2018 after building and running internet providers in Ireland and South Africa, according to the company. They set out to bring fast broadband to remote, underserved parts of Scotland, and the business focuses on towns and rural areas across the Highlands, though it serves some city customers too.
Acorn builds its own network and connects homes and businesses to its fibre over wireless links, with an antenna at the property receiving the signal. It is a member of WISPA, the trade body for wireless broadband providers, and a registered supplier under the Scottish Broadband Voucher Scheme, which can help eligible properties with the cost of connecting. Check your address with the team before ordering.
