About SES Networks UK
SES operates satellites in geostationary orbit, which hold a fixed spot above the Earth, and in medium Earth orbit, with access to low Earth orbit capacity too. It sells connectivity to airlines and business jets, mining and offshore energy firms, enterprises and governments around the world, and describes itself as the world's only multi-orbit satellite player.
In July 2025, SES completed its purchase of Intelsat. The group's parent company, SES S.A., is registered in Luxembourg rather than in the UK. SES does not sell broadband direct to UK homes, so households after satellite internet will need a retail provider. Its services suit businesses and public bodies that need links at sea, in the air or at remote sites.
