About CityFibre
You cannot buy broadband from CityFibre directly. The London company, founded in 2011, builds and runs a full fibre network and sells access to more than 30 providers, including Sky, Vodafone, TalkTalk and Zen, which sell the service on to homes and businesses. By the end of September 2026 its network passed 4.8 million premises, with just over 1.1 million connected.
It bought Lit Fibre's network in May 2024 and Connexin's Hull network in March 2025, and sold Entanet in a deal agreed in July 2026. In October 2026 its shareholders committed £900m to fund buying other networks, with Community Fibre, Hyperoptic, G.Network and Gigaclear reported as targets. Reports that month also said it was asking lenders to write down up to £2bn of its £3.8bn debt, a plan that had not been finalised.
