Stix Internet was started by 2 business partners, Tony Armitage and Ross Williams, who it says had worked for McLaren Racing and BT before setting up on their own. They began building a pilot network in 2016 after spotting a need for faster connections in their local area.
The network uses point-to-point wireless links, radio connections between fixed points, to reach farms, homes and businesses in rural Yorkshire where cables cannot easily go. No phone line is needed, and Stix offers a 28-day money back guarantee. It says coverage keeps growing, so it is worth checking back if you are just outside its area today.
Records also link the company to the Northern Fibre name, though the Stix website does not mention it.
