Founded in London in 1996 as a pre-paid internet provider, Claranet now runs cloud, security and managed network services internationally.
About Claranet
Pre-paid internet access was Claranet's first business when it started in London in 1996 as an internet service provider. It grew into managed networks and hosting for companies, expanded into Europe, and later added cyber security, application development, data and AI units, with operations reaching the US, South America and India.
Today Claranet describes itself as a global technology service provider covering cloud, cyber security, data, AI, applications, networks and workplace services for organisations. Its line is that it is big enough to deliver and small enough to care. In June 2026 it bought Six Degrees.
Smaller firms are served under a separate brand, Claranet SOHO. The UK company, Claranet Limited, has its registered office at The Yards in London.
