The service we provide
BroadbandSwitch.uk is a comparison and information service for UK home and small business broadband. It includes the postcode comparison journey, deals pages, provider profiles, editorial guides, research reports, calculators, checkers, the speed tools and the games, all free of charge with no account or signup.
The comparison journey is delivered with our technology partner, stickee Technology Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 06711740, registered office 3rd Floor, 1 Ashley Road, Altrincham, Cheshire, WA14 2DT. Deal data, pricing and availability come from providers through that platform. How we order results is published openly in how we rank broadband deals, and results default to sorting by headline price rather than by what pays us most.
The service is funded by commission: when you click through and order a deal, the provider may pay us, and the price you pay is never higher because you came through us. The model is explained in full in our affiliate disclosure, and commercial relationships never decide editorial conclusions, as set out in our editorial policy.
Accuracy and your own checks
Accuracy is the standard we hold ourselves to: claims are verified against named sources, our methodology is published, and when we get something wrong we say so in the public corrections log. Even so, prices, speeds, availability and offer terms belong to providers, they change without notice, and what is available at your specific address is only settled by the provider's own checker at the point of order. So before you order any deal, confirm the price, the contract length, the mid contract price rise terms and the availability directly with the provider. Our information supports your decision; it is not a quotation, a guarantee, or personal, financial or legal advice.
Your responsibilities
Use the site lawfully and honestly. In particular: provide accurate information when you use features such as the postcode search or our contact forms; do not attempt to disrupt, overload, probe or interfere with the site, its security or its infrastructure; do not misrepresent your identity or your connection to us; do not use the site to harm others; and do not extract, scrape or harvest our content or data in bulk, by automated means or otherwise, without our prior written consent. Search engines and AI assistants indexing and summarising our pages in the ordinary way are welcome; wholesale extraction of our datasets is not.
Contracts and switching
When you choose a deal and click through, you leave our service and enter the provider's. Any contract you then enter is strictly between you and that provider, on that provider's terms, and the provider is responsible for the service, the billing, the installation and the switching process. We are not a telecoms provider, we are not a party to your contract, and we cannot vary it. Statutory protections that apply to your broadband contract, including Ofcom's switching rules and any right to cancel, are matters between you and the provider, and our guides explain them in general terms to help you use them.
Intellectual property
The content of BroadbandSwitch.uk, including text, graphics, logos, data compilations, software and the design of our tools and games, is the property of SearchSwitchSave Limited unless otherwise stated. The BroadbandSwitch name and brand are protected by UK trade mark UK00004211113, and we assert our database rights in the datasets we compile. Provider names, trademarks and logos shown on the site remain the property of their respective owners and appear for identification and information.
You may view, read and share links to our content, and quote briefly from it with attribution, for personal, non commercial purposes. Reproducing substantial parts of our content, republishing our data, or using it commercially requires our prior written consent. Journalists and researchers are welcome to use the materials and data in our media centre under the terms stated there, and we are usually delighted to help with attribution requests.
Tools and games
Our calculators, checkers, speed tools and games are provided free, as they are, for information and enjoyment. Results from tools such as the speed test, the calculators and the checkers are estimates based on your inputs and conditions at the time, not guarantees of what any provider will deliver. We do not promise uninterrupted availability of any tool, and we may change, suspend or retire tools and games at any time. The games are recreational: progress and saves are yours to keep, game saves export to a file on your device, and nothing about your play is stored on our servers.
Third party links and services
The site links to providers, regulators, help resources and other external websites, and embeds services from our technology partner. External sites have their own terms and privacy arrangements, which apply when you visit them, and linking to a site is not an endorsement of everything on it. How third party services on our own pages handle data is set out in our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy.
Liability
We take real care over this site, and the law rightly stops anyone excluding certain responsibilities, so let us be precise. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that paragraph: the site and its content are provided as they are, and to the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude warranties, conditions and other terms implied by statute or common law. We do not accept liability for loss or damage arising from reliance on information on this site, from errors in pricing or availability that originate with providers, from temporary unavailability of the site or its tools, or from the acts or omissions of providers or other third parties, including any contract you enter with a provider. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, business or opportunity, arising from use of a free information service.
Suspension of access
We may suspend or restrict access to the site or any of its features for anyone who breaches these terms or whose activity threatens the security, integrity or fair operation of the service, and we may do so without notice where the threat is immediate. Where a restriction affects you and you believe it is mistaken, contact us and we will look at it quickly and fairly.
Changes to these terms
We review these terms twice yearly and update them sooner when the service or the law changes. The last updated date at the top tells you when anything moved, changes take effect when published on this page, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. Significant changes are noted in the public corrections and updates record.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising from them or from your use of BroadbandSwitch.uk, are governed by the laws of the Isle of Man, and the courts of the Isle of Man have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer provisions of the law of your country of residence, and nothing in these terms restricts rights that cannot be excluded by agreement.
Contact and complaints
Questions about these terms are welcome at broadbandswitch.uk/contact.html or on 0330 122 1223. If we have fallen short, our complaints process at broadbandswitch.uk/make-a-complaint.html explains how we handle complaints and the timescales we work to. If your problem is with your broadband service rather than with us, complain to your provider first under its complaints code, and if it remains unresolved after eight weeks or the provider issues a deadlock letter, you can escalate to the provider's alternative dispute resolution scheme free of charge; our complaints and your rights guide walks through the whole route.
Frequently asked questions
Is BroadbandSwitch.uk free to use?
Yes, completely. There is no charge, no account and no signup for anything on this site, including the comparison service, the guides, the tools and the games. We earn commission from providers when you order through our comparison, which never changes the price you pay, as explained in our affiliate disclosure.
Who is my broadband contract with?
With the provider you order from, never with us. BroadbandSwitch.uk is a comparison service: we help you find and compare deals, and when you click through and sign up, the contract is strictly between you and that provider, on that provider's terms.
Is your information advice?
No. Our guides, rankings, tools and reports are carefully researched information to help you make your own decision. They are general in nature, they are not personal, financial or legal advice, and you should confirm the details of any deal directly with the provider before ordering.
Can I reuse your content?
You can read, share links to, and quote briefly from our pages for personal, non commercial purposes with attribution. Reproducing substantial content, republishing our data, or extracting it in bulk requires our prior written consent, and journalists are welcome to use the resources in our media centre.
Which law governs these terms?
The laws of the Isle of Man, with disputes subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Isle of Man courts. Nothing in these terms takes away statutory consumer rights or mandatory protections that the law of your country of residence gives you and that cannot be excluded by agreement.
How do I complain about BroadbandSwitch.uk or about a provider?
For anything about us, use our complaints process at broadbandswitch.uk/make-a-complaint.html and we will respond quickly and fairly. For problems with your broadband service itself, complain to your provider first under its complaints code, and if it remains unresolved after eight weeks or deadlock, you can escalate to the provider's alternative dispute resolution scheme for free.
