Yes. BeFibre and Zzoomm are now part of the same company, and as of 2026 they are being brought together under a single brand: Zzoomm. The two altnets merged in 2025, and from 1 July 2026 BeFibre customers are being moved across to the Zzoomm name. The short answer: yes, they are one company now

BeFibre began life as the retail broadband brand of FullFibre Limited, a network builder. Zzoomm was a separate altnet. The two came together when Zzoomm and FullFibre Limited merged, a deal that was agreed in January 2025 and completed in March 2025, creating one of the UK's largest alternative networks (Computer Weekly, 2025). Since then the business has been consolidating everything under one name, and Zzoomm is the brand that stays. As BeFibre now states in its own small print, Be Fibre Ltd is part of the Zzoomm Group and trades under the Zzoomm name (Be Fibre, 2026).

How BeFibre and Zzoomm came together

The consolidation has happened in clear steps:

• 2021: BeFibre launches as FullFibre Limited's in-house retail broadband brand.
• January 2025: Zzoomm and FullFibre Limited agree to merge, with Zzoomm's chief executive Matthew Hare set to become executive chairman and FullFibre's chief executive James Warner set to become group chief executive (Computer Weekly, 2025).
• March 2025: the merger completes, combining the two networks into one of the UK's largest altnets.
• August 2025: the two brands begin aligning their products and pricing.
• 18 February 2026: brand integration formally completes, with Zzoomm confirmed as the single retail broadband brand for the group (ISPreview UK, 2026).
• 1 July 2026: BeFibre customer communications, bills and account areas begin carrying Zzoomm branding (Be Fibre, 2026).

What the combined Zzoomm looks like now

The merged business is a genuine heavyweight among the altnets. It runs its own full fibre network, separate from Openreach, reaching more than 600,000 homes and businesses ready for service (Zzoomm, 2026), and it serves over 90,000 customers across approximately 110 market towns (ISPreview UK, 2026). Its footprint is strongest across the Midlands, Wales and the South West, plus the many towns that BeFibre and FullFibre had already built.

On the product itself, a few things stand out:

• Fully symmetric speeds from 200Mbps up to 2.3Gbps, so your upload matches your download on every tier, which is a real bonus for video calls, cloud backups and uploading large files (Zzoomm, 2026).
• A Wi-Fi 7 router as standard on the 1000Mbps and 2300Mbps plans, with a Wi-Fi 6 router on the 200Mbps and 500Mbps tiers (Zzoomm, 2026).
• Flexible contracts: rolling monthly, 12-month and 24-month terms, with free standard installation and no setup fee (Zzoomm, 2026).
• A contract buyout worth up to £300 to help cover any exit fees from your current provider (Zzoomm, 2026).
• More than broadband: Zzoomm now also offers a home phone service, on which you can keep your existing number, and has recently launched Zzoomm TV (Zzoomm, 2026).

Pricing is postcode and tier dependent, advertised from around £20 per month on a 24-month term as of July 2026 (Zzoomm, 2026). Worth knowing: on the 24-month deals an introductory discount applies for the first 12 months before the price steps up to the standard rate for the second year, so always read the full contract cost. I'm a BeFibre customer. What does this mean for me?

Reassuringly little, and nothing you need to act on. BeFibre has confirmed that your broadband continues exactly as it is: the same package, the same speed, the same equipment and the same service, with your pricing and payment setup unchanged and your Direct Debit carrying on as normal (Be Fibre, 2026). Here is the detail:

• From 1 July 2026, your bills, My Account and customer emails start showing Zzoomm branding, with both the BeFibre and Zzoomm logos appearing together during the changeover (Be Fibre, 2026).
• There is nothing to do. You do not need to create a new account, and your existing My Account login keeps working, including on the Zzoomm website at my.zzoomm.com (Be Fibre, 2026).
• Support is unchanged. You reach customer services in exactly the same way as today, by the same phone and email, now handled by the combined team (Be Fibre, 2026).
• Help is in both places. FAQs and support content remain available on both the BeFibre and Zzoomm websites throughout the transition (Be Fibre, 2026).

In short, the change is cosmetic. If you are approaching the end of your contract, it is still worth reviewing your options as you normally would, but nothing about the merger forces any action on your part.

I'm choosing a new provider. Does this affect me?

It simplifies things, really. Because BeFibre and Zzoomm are now one network and one product, you are looking at a single service whichever brand name you happen to see during the changeover. Availability is specific to the streets they have built, so the only reliable way to know what you can get is a postcode check. Switching in is straightforward: Zzoomm uses One Touch Switch, where you place the order and choose a date, your new connection goes live first, and your old service is then cancelled automatically with no downtime and no need to ring your current provider (Zzoomm, 2026). Why are so many altnets merging?

The UK ended up with an unusually large number of alternative networks, all building full fibre at the same time and all needing heavy investment to do it. Between them, the altnets had grown to serve more than 2 million broadband customers by the middle of 2024 (Point Topic, as reported by Computer Weekly, 2025), but laying rival fibre networks street by street is hugely capital-intensive, and combining networks is how the sector is now finding scale and a more sustainable footing. Are BeFibre and Zzoomm the same company?

Is BeFibre closing down?
